PHOTOS: Flowers In Arts & Entertainment District

Ed Rybczynski features Havre de Grace's downtown street-front planters.

Have you noticed the planters along the streets in downtown recently?

Havre de Grace photographer focused his camera lens on them for a photo series. Check out Ed's images above.

According to a Patch reader, volunteers planted the flowers and have been watering the flowers three times a week.

The plantings were done by NJ BRAC relocatees. The watering has been done 3-4 times a week by two high school students.

For 2 young people to volunteer during the summer to do something so positive to beautify our town says much about them. Impressive!

Thank you to Angela, Brent, Jerry and Geno for watering! And thanks to the relocatees from NJ to HdG for coming out and planting!

Congrats to the kids for their hard work. HdeG is already such a great place, but in recent years it has become soooo beautiful. I don't get home enough to enjoy it!!

Its nice to see some young people take pride in their community and volunteer to help out. A great example for others to follow. Everyone else should get up and help out, its alot of fun!! Thank you!!
