Main Street had some unusual visitors Saturday with the grand opening of Bel Air's newest comic book store.

Spider-Man and a Chick-fil-A cow greeted guests as Collectors Corner unveiled its novel shop.

An hour-and-a-half before the store officially opened at 11 a.m., it reported fans were standing in line. One person captured video of gamers stationed outside the store around midnight.

"Holy long lines, Batman! The queue for [Collectors Corner] grand opening is epic!" Scott Walker, executive director of the Bel Air Downtown Alliance, said Saturday morning.

There was an incentive for early birds. Once the ribbon was cut at 11 a.m., the first 50 people in line got free tote bags filled with merchandise and $10 gift certificates. There were other goodies in store for everyone, including costumed characters—like Spider-Man and the Chick-fil-A cow—plus raffles and comic book signings.

This is the second location for Collectors Corner owner Randy Myers, whose flagship store is on Harford Road in Parkville.

Both stores sell graphic novels, used comics, vintage collectibles, t-shirts, posters, board games and DVDs, among other items.

Collectors Corner is located at 17 N. Main St., Bel Air. Hours are noon–8 p.m., Thursday–Saturday; noon–5 p.m. Sunday; noon–8 p.m. Tuesday; and 11 a.m.–8 p.m. Wednesday.
