For one night only, the public is invited to kick off their Halloween season with a live free production of Dracula Saturday, at 7 p.m. on Oct. 20, at the APG North post theater. Doors open at 6 p.m. The show will be performed by Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation’s all-volunteer Theater Group.

The ancient vampire tale will have a modern twist that theatergoers will enjoy, said the group’s director, Tricia Devine.

Devine said she hopes as many people as possible will take advantage of the rare opportunity to see a live performance at no charge. The theater group’s credits include holiday plays, dramas, and dinner theater comedies.

"It’s also a chance to show your support and appreciation to our volunteer force," Devine said. "The actors and stagehands are APG DoD civilians, Soldiers, Family members and veterans. And they’re bringing culture, arts and entertainment to our backyard."

Devine said the Oct. 20 performance is about 90 minutes long, and is for mature audiences only.

Visitors should use the Route 22 gate and will be required to present their driver’s license and car registration.
