According to the weather service, the tornado hit between 6:01 and 6:02 a.m. and was on the ground for two minutes. Winds gusted up to 70 mph as the tornado traveled approximately 1 mile, the report stated.
Damage was limited to trees, stretching from southern Harford County to Havre de Grace.
One Havre de Grace Patch reader reported a tree across the tracks on Lewis Lane near the Weis.
The tree damage in Havre de Grace was caused by "straight-line thunderstorm downburst winds," the weather service reported. That means that winds were blowing down and out in a straight line; in a tornado, the winds blow in and up, according to the weather service.
