For Michael Sawyer, fourth from the left in the photo, the swim was just a way to pass the time until his girlfriend returned from a shopping trip. They had plans Saturday night.
Sadly, though, the 16-year-old Havre de Grace junior did not make it back to shore, shattering what had begun as just another day in the riverside city.
