Lanes Reopened in Cecil County After I-95 Crash

Interstate 95 was shut down to southbound traffic for approximately one hour.

All lanes of Interstate 95 headed south by North East in Cecil County were shut down for approximately one hour Friday afternoon due to a crash, officials said.

The crash on I-95 south near MD Route 272 for North East/Rising Sun involved one vehicle and was reported after 4 p.m., according to state transportation officials.

The scene was cleared and all lanes reopened at 5 p.m., according to the Maryland Transportation Authority.

With backups in the area, the Maryland Transportation Authority recommended taking US Route 40 as an alternate route.
