How was your Saturday? Patch editor Sean Welsh got out to Ocean City for the first time this year. The weather held out, too. But Havre de Grace was busy, as well—with the opening of the new soccer and athletic fields at Chapel Road, the Havre de Grace Art Show and the 9/11 tribute ride. Havre de Grace adds to its inventory of athletic fields today. The fields along Chapel Road just outside of the city's limits will open. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held, before Havre de Grace's youth teams take on teams from the Dublin-Darlington program. The weather looks to be on the kids' and parents' side today, too. The 9/11 tribute ride and the Havre de Grace Art Show will offer plenty of other events for Havre de Grace residents on a busy, sunny Saturday. Monday's big news was the revelation that former City Councilman and current Havre de Grace resident and business owner Charles Maslin was taken into police custody last week for a violation of his parole. It was a topic of behind-the-scenes discussion and audience whispers during Monday's City Council meeting, but was never discussed by any of the elected officials or residents during public comment periods during the meeting.
