Your Susquehanna Hose Company Duck Dunk Forecast

Here's your insta-feather forecast for Saturday's Susquehanna Hose Company Duck Dunk.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

What, you expected details?

You're plunging into the Chesapeake Bay. Breaking news: It's January—not quite a refreshing dip.

A quick glance at water temperatures around the bay in the hours leading up to the plunge indicates the water will be around 40 degrees at plunge time.

Last year, it was icy and cold—temperatures struggling to climb out of the 20s.

In fact, last year's video—included with this post—shows ice on the ramp.

By 10 a.m. Saturday, the temperature should be creeping into the high 30s—balmy in comparison to a year ago. However, the slight breeze—forecast calls for 15 mph winds—might make for a chilly exit from the water.

I'll be there. It should be a lot of fun.

Not plunging? No worries. You can donate. You can also partake in the pre-dunk breakfast at Bill Bateman's between 8 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. The meal is free for dunkers, and just $8 for non-dunkers.
