...going downtown means going to Havre de Grace's downtown, and going to the big city means driving to Bel Air.

Your summers involved Little League All-Stars, the carnival, fireworks, soccer camp at Havre de Grace Middle School and a lot of time out on the water.

When u went to Miss Tilleys store
When "SAM"actually worked at Sams..although his family who runs it now are very nice and they remember their customers and their children
You went boating in the summer and camped out on Garrett Island and swung on the tree swing
And who remembers when the Regatta boat races took place and i do not mean sail boats ...HI-POWERED boats

When we had all of the conveniences of shopping downtown. You could buy clothing, hardware, food, furniture, all necessities, without having to drive somewhere else. I wish so much that we could have that again.

I completly agree with John Gross and Carolyn Navel. Havre de Grace is HOME from where ever you have been!!

Havre de Grace is being able to walk and talk to folks who you have know as parents, friends, classmates, people who know other people in town and by growing up and knowing the people you live next to you and a lot of their friends. This may be a small place but people will normally take the time to talk to one another and meet new people who are coming into our city with the hopes that they will feel that we are friendly and helpful citizens in good Old Havre de Grace. This is what I feel helps make a great place to live.

......when good home cooking can be summed up in one word...."Vancheries"!

More than places, I think it is the people that make Havre de Grace. I think some of the best staples of this community are people like Don Osman, Karen Green, Larry Strong, Rick Hauf, the Dougherty's, the Craigs....

When you go for your walk about town and strangers shout "Hi" to you from their porches.

And when all of your Christmas gifts have come from Bomboys!

-when you run downtown (HdG) to get a last minute item and actually find it at Joe's
-when you "quack" on New Year's Eve

When you know how to pronounce Bourbon street or say Havre de Grass

When you had Mrs Walker and Mrs Kreiger in elementary school and so did your parents and you had Mr Spooner, Mr Holly and Mr Osman and so do your kids!!

Lets not forget shockets and tucks!
