UPDATE: Body Recovered From Aberdeen Proving Ground Pond
Emergency personnel were alerted to a possible drowning on post Wednesday.
UPDATE: (7:18 p.m.)—A person died on Aberdeen Proving Ground after an accident at an unexploded ordinance range pond Wednesday afternoon.
Around 2:30 p.m. Susquehanna Hose Company's dive team was notified of a possible drowning on post by Aberdeen Proving Ground Fire Department, the Susquehanna Hose Chief Scott Hurst said Wednesday.
The team arrived at the scene shortly before 3 p.m. to assist, Hurst said.
The person involved died and the body has been recovered, according to a release from the U.S. Army Garrison public affairs office.
The victim's name has not been released pending family notification.
No further information was available as of post time.
