Havre de Grace Schools Need Votes In National Contests
Local schools are in the running for two nationwide contests.

Attention local parents and students—you can help make education better in Havre de Grace.
Two national initiatives are offering local schools a chance to flourish with a couple of clicks on your computer.
The Target Contest
Through this Facebook app or on its website here, Target is giving away $5 million in gift cards.
Schools kindergarten through 12th grade are elligible. Search for your school here.
The contest runs through Sept. 8.
The Avery Contest
The Avery Give Back to Schools contest offers thousands of dollars worth of school supplies and coupons for the top vote-getters in the country.

Meadowvale Elementary School was at No. 56 in the voting as of Sunday night.
Winning doesn't require a first-place finish.
According to the website, the schools finishing in the top five in votes receive:
- 25,000 Box Tops for Education coupons
- $10,000 worth of Avery school supplies
- $1,000 worth of gift cards
The 25 runner-up schools each receive:
- 10,000 Box Tops for Education coupons
Ten random winners with more than 100 votes receive:
- 5,000 Box Tops for Education coupons
The contest runs through Sept. 14.

I vote everyday from all 4 of my email accounts and it takes me all of about 3 minutes. Come on people...let's help the schools that teach our children. Target only allows you to vote every 3 days but do it from all your emails as well.
I also love the fact that these companies are willing to help our schools.
