Brad Davidson's routine is to pause for 15 seconds before taking a penalty kick.

So when the referee blew his whistle to admonish the Warriors defender for not approaching the ball quickly enough Tuesday night, Davidson said his concentration was broken. But he quickly gathered himself and found the left corner of the goal, setting off a frenzied celebration at James R. Harris Stadium and sending the Warriors in the Class 1A state semifinals.

The Warriors and Sparrows Point played to a 1-1 tie through 80 minutes of regulation and two 10-minute overtime periods before Havre de Grace won the penalty kick shootout, 5-4.

Havre de Grace will play at a yet-to-be-determined time Saturday at North County High School in Anne Arundel County (directions via Mapquest).
