TV Show Filming in Havre de Grace
House of Cards, starring Kevin Spacey, films in Havre de Grace Wednesday.
Don't be alarmed if downtown Havre de Grace looks like Gaffney, SC this week.
That's because it will be—at least, in TV land.
Picturesque Washington Street and the former City Hall building—now known as the "opera house"—in downtown Havre de Grace will be used as the backdrop for scenes in the upcoming Netflix series "House of Cards," starring Kevin Spacey.
The show is set in Gaffney, SC.
Crews have been in and out of Havre de Grace over recent weeks. Portions of the opera house building have been renovated, and a sign identifying Washington Street as "Gaffney, SC" will be installed.
Filming will also be held at the Hopkins farm on MD Route 155 near Level.
The filming will begin early Tuesday morning and continue Wednesday morning.
Monday's City Council meeting agenda includes an event regarding the filming.
Havre de Grace and its businesses are no stranger to serving as a film set.
TV series "Young Americans was filmed in Havre de Grace in 2001. The film From Within was shot in Havre de Grace in 2009.

Don't forget Tuck Everlasting 2002. They used the old house on Blenheim Ln in Bulle Rock. Although imdb.com doesn't mention Havre de Grace.

And the movie 'from inside', I think it was called. This is the kind of business Havre de Grace should be doing. If we could get more films made here it would improve our bottom line thereby relieving taxpayers the burden of higer taxes and water rates.

I know the last film done here in Gaffney was a big boost to the local economy!
