A busy two-week stretch for weekend events in Havre de Grace kicked off Friday with October's First Friday celebration.
First Friday ran from 5 to 9 p.m., closing off downtown streets. Aside from the car show, face painting, balloon artists, street vendors and street cafes, a number of businesses and organizations hosted specials.
Have photos of First Friday? Post them in our Pics & Clips page or email havredegrace@patch.com and we will feature them on Saturday.
An artist was to be drawing caricatures at Stirling Bridge Jewelry at 119 North Washington Street.
The Rowdy Boys were to perform on the deck at Salon Marielle.
Paul Howshall was to be performing jazz at Tidewater Grille.
Three Bats in the Attic were to perform in front of the Creative Sanctuary.
Mark and the BoylerMakers were scheduled to perform in the courtyard outside Wonder Toys.

Oh gawd the only way I'd want a caricature is if I was really drunk, I just don't understand why anyone would want a super unflattering picture of themselves. Have a nice first friday~

@Katie: you and your snarky "oh gawd" was seriously un-called for! How dare you disrespect the work of an artist and use the word unflattering! Caricatures are meant to be light-hearted and whimsical, if you cant grasp that concept then maybe you should dislodge the stick from the lower region of your body. PS. My husband and I had this done, and Rick is an amazing caricaturist!

Katie,
As the owner of the business who hired the artist I believe that you should have checked out his work before commenting....they were not unflattering at all and captured a unique essence of the subjects personality and were very entertaining to watch being drawn. Perhaps you could present a more positive outlook on things once and awhile and paint a more flattering picture of yourself.
