Be on the look out for pirates in Havre de Grace Saturday and Sunday.
Pirate Fest kicked off Friday with the first annual Pirate Bar Crawl. But the fun doesn't stop there.
Here's a run-down of events for Pirate Fest:
- The 5K run begins at 8 a.m. on July 14 at the Lock House. The run follows along the Lafayette Trail. Pre-registration is $20, and walk-up registration is $25, with online registration is available at www.active.com or www.thelockhousemuseum.org. T-shirts and bags will be given to the first 500 to register, and awards will be presented to top finishers.
- Saturday morning marks the start of the pirate encampment, which will come to life at 10 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday on the grounds at the Lock House. The sights will include cannon fire, skirmishes and duels, organizers said. Family-friendly activities include live music by Scales and Crosstones, costume contests, pirate tales, games and guided tours. The museum will be open throughout the day. Admission to the encampment will be $3, while children 12 and under get in free.
- The Fifth Annual Pirate Gala will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets for the adult party are $50, available at the Havre de Grace Visitor Center, Bahoukas Antique Mall and Laurrapin Grille in Havre de Grace, Grumpy's in Aberdeen and Preston's Stationery in Bel Air, or online at www.thelockhousemuseum.org.
