Taylor Smith homered to spark a 8-2 win in Thursday's region semifinal, putting the Havre de Grace softball team in the Class 1A North region title game Friday afternoon at Perryville.
The Warriors visit the Panthers at 4 p.m. with the winner advancing to the state semifinals. Havre de Grace is seeking its first state tournament appearance, while Perryville is seeking its fifth.
Smith hit a three-run homer in the first inning Thursday and later added a double. She scored twice, going 2-for-3.
Kaitlyn Husfelt was also 2-for-3, driving in two runs on a pair of singles while also reaching base via a walk.
Emily Lewis went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored.
Hayley Kitts, Hailey Bethkie and Dana Teufer each had run-scoring singles.
Rebecca Ashman and Riley Arnold each scored two runs. Tori Caine reaached on a single, while Megan Thompson was hit by a pitch and Alison Lewis drew a walk.
Arnold pitched five shutout innings, allowing two hits and a walk while striking out four.
Kitts hurled two innings of relief, striking out two and allowing two un-earned runs on two hits.
Perryville defeated Bo Manor, 6-3, in its semifinal game.
