SHOWDOWN: Ruppersberger, Jacobs to Clash in Cockeysville
The incumbent Democrat met the challenging Republican for their first debate Monday at Warren Elementary.
Editor's Note: A recap of Monday night's debate is coming later today (Tuesday, Oct. 23).

If Round 3 of President Obama vs. Gov. Romney isn't going to sway your vote—and you're looking for something a little more live and local—consider dropping by Warren Elementary Monday for the first meeting between Rep. C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger and challenger Sen. Nancy Jacobs.
Monday evening's debate is sponsored by the Springdale Community Association.
Incumbent Democrat Ruppersberger will defend his record, which focuses largely on national security issues, against Jacobs who has insisted that the House of Representatives needs new blood and politicians who can compromise.
Jacobs last month touted her work on Maryland's Jessica's Law, a bipartisan agreement that strengthened state sex offender punishments, to the Greater Timonium Community Council.
Ruppersberger meanwhile, can (and will likely), hang his hat on being the ranking member on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
But don't let us spoil the fun.
The show starts at 7 p.m. at Warren Elementary School—900 Bosley Avenue Cockeysville, MD 21030.

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this post indicated that the debate was sponsored by the Nancy Jacobs campaign. Patch regrets the error.

It's so nice to be invited today to an event that was held yesterday. Seems Patch is having calendar trouble. Lagging a day behind on the news more and more.

Hi mcgillicuddy,
A recap of Monday night's debate is coming later today. Fact checking takes time. To be fair, as of noon on Tuesday, only CapitalGazette.com has a recap of the debate posted online: http://www.capitalgazette.com/news/election/ruppersberger-jacobs-stick-to-party-line-in-first-debate/article_aca41dd6-50fe-5314-a7fe-0a57374ba8e5.html - And the author of that post misspelled moderator Richard Vatz's name. - ND
