Sheriff: One Havre de Grace Dog Stolen, Another Shot At
Harford County Sheriff's Office provided the following information.
At 11:55 p.m. on Oct. 16, a dog was reported stolen from the 1700 block of Chapel Rd., according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.
The dog's owner alleged that a niece took the animal, said Capt. Keith Warner of the Harford County Sheriff's Office. Police referred the dog owner to the county commissioner to file charges.
Earlier Tuesday evening, a Havre de Grace man reportedly shot at a dog on his property.
A man living on the 3900 block of Level Rd. said he was attacked by a dog at approximately 6:58 p.m.
Officials were not sure whether the gunfire hit the dog, Warner said.
No charges were filed as a result of the incident and there was no violation for using a gun, according to Warner.
"He does not have to have a permit on his property," Warner said. "He can protect his life and property."
