Royal Farms Under Renovations, Adding Chicken
The downtown convenience store and gas station is scheduled to re-open next month.
UPDATED (2:30 p.m.)——Royal Farms' famous chicken is coming to Havre de Grace.
The Havre de Grace Royal Farms at the corner of Juniata and Revolution streets is closed for renovations. A spokesman for Royal Farms told Patch Tuesday afternoon the store has a set a July 25 target date for reopening.
Royal Farms spokesman Ed Stronski said the store will undergo an expansion, as well as interior and exterior renovations.
The changes will bring the Havre de Grace store up to par with the other 135 stores in Maryland, Delaware, Virginia and Pennsylvania. The majority of Royal Farms stores offer chicken—including those in Aberdeen, Port Deposit, Bel Air and Churchville, according to the Royal Farms website.

I have been told it will be a 14 week project. Remodel inside and out with a new parking lot in the rear.

Seriously, they aren't the only game in town. The only thing they have in favor in their current [soon to be former] state is location, location, location. Even before Shell/Highs closed, all of the gas stations in town are usually around the same price, give or take a cent.

Well hopefully they will also renovate some of the staff. I love standing in a long line while one person tries to do EVERYTHING and the other girl keeps running outside to talk to a guy instead of helping the girl who is actually doing her job or better yet waiting for the person ringing you up to finish answering a text so she can take your money. Dont get me wrong its not everyone but there are a few that need to get it together.

I agree with Alicia! The line can be 10 people deep and only one person working while others stand around talking or deciding to take their smoke break at the door - the whole building reaks of smoke - why bother going outside if you are just going to stand at the door and let the smoke filter back in and on your customers as they come and go.... Just a thought - you may want to hire mature employees - and I'm not talking about their age....
