Harford County Council To Discuss Zoning

The Harford County Council will hold legislative session Sept. 4.

After a summer break, the Harford County Council will return to action Tuesday night.

The council is expected to look at changing the county's B3 zoning classification based on the uproar surrounding plans to build a Walmart at Route 924 and Plumtree Road, council president Billy Boniface told ExploreHarford.com.

County Executive David Craig has already announced his opposition to the Walmart.

Councilman Dion Gurthrie told Patch in a previous interview that zoning regulations largely hinder what the council can do to stop the proposed Walmart.

Check out the attached agenda for the Sept. 4 meeting.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. in council chambers located at
212 South Bond Street in Bel Air.
