Three people were shot Monday night in two locations in Cecil County.

UPDATED (Jan. 8, 5:50 a.m.)—One person is dead and two others have been transported to a regional trauma center after a shooting Monday night in Port Deposit.

Police continue to investigate the incident, which unfolded over two locations in the rural community along the Susquehanna River.

Sgt. Greg Hahn of the Maryland State Police North East barrack told Patch that one person was dead and two others were flown from the two-scene shooting by police helicopter.

Hahn said the deceased individual was found in the 200 block of Craigtown Road. Another patient was flown from that scene. A male patient was flown from the 1000 block of Bainbridge Road. The incidents are being investigated as related, Hahn said.

CecilDaily.com reported one patient was flown to Maryland Shock Trauma while another was flown to Christiana (DE) Hospital. Both were in critical condition, the report said.

The identities of those involved were not immediately available.

The incident occurred around 8 p.m. Monday, with Patch's initial report citing a Maryland State Police duty officer from the North East barrack, who confirmed a shooting, but could only say an investigation was ongoing as of 8:40 p.m.
