A woman was found in the water near Hutchins Park Friday morning in Havre de Grace.

Is there any evidence linking the two drowning? Should the community be worried?

So sad, we knew this woman, the wife of a good friend. Married name is Greco. She was a very sweet person.
Yes!!! The community should be worried!! In the past year and a half since we moved here from NJ, two female colleges were raped and now one murdered!! All in Havre De' Grace!! Crime is bad there and if you search the internet it will tell you that Havre De' Grace has the most sex offenders in the country!! Yes, Country!! I have been told by a business owner in the town that it is kept quiet since it would be bad for business!! People need to know - woman especially should not be walking around alone in that town!!
I don't understand how this is all being kept quiet - it should be highly publicized!!

I, too, moved here from NJ but you really should check your facts. There are 19 registered sex offenders or 1 per 769 residents (which is higher than the state average), but Havre de Grace ratio of number of residents to the number of sex offenders compared to nearest cities are as followed:
(Note: Higher values mean more residents per offender so HdG is not even close to the highest town in Harford County, let alone in the entire country!)
Havre de Grace: 739 ; Perryville: 477 ; Port Deposit: 177 ;Aberdeen: 362 ;North East: 115 ;Rising Sun: 101 ; Bel Air: 579
Maryland: 1,117
Maryland in general is roughly double the rate of sex offenders, Harford County in General is triple the rate of Monmouth county...demonizing Hdg as some sort of hotbed is probaly unfair...
Bradley Beach in NJ is comparable with 1 per 798 residents...
Monmouth County: 3,290 New Jersey: 2,531
Edgewood actually has a lower rate Lea.

The town is not a bad place at all.... I grew up there and only live a few hours away now. Yes it is very sad situation, this lady was a very dear friend of our family and the boy who pasted was a high school friend of mine. I dont believe they are linked in any way but like any other plave in the country things happen and we can't control them. Things are not kept a seacret at all, everyone knows what happens. If you think Havre de Grace has bad crime/sex offenders, go 20 mins up the road to edgewood (look what recently happened). RIP to all and putting HdeG down won't make things any better!

I agree there should be more published on these deaths. There is a webcam down at the Marina because I see it on the nightly news maybe somebody saw something? This news should be reported on the evening news locally for people to come forward if they have any information. Not news buried in the Havre de Grace Patch.

It's crime every where, I do not care where you move to. because of the wooded areas and the dam and the rest of the water that surrounds us, they figure this is a dumping ground. we are just have to be more careful, and trust no man. But I still love HDG.

Regina, this is not a dumping ground this woman lived in downtown Hdg at 300 Washington Street.

Curious...if they are treating this as a homicide then why aren't they trying to contact people she's contacted prior to her being discovered? Her name/number is on our caller ID at home. She called us 2 days before her body was discovered. She was sweet...and a friend...and this is very sad. There's other people we know who she's spoken to who were never contacted by the police so I'm lost in this whole Homicide thing. Maybe I watch too much Law and Order. We too are from NJ and Love HdG.

Sorry but what the hell is this lady Denise talking about? We average what a murder every 4 years? As for the sex offender talk...the country? Come on now! Are you sure you spelled Havre de Grace right or clicked on the right one? Crime is far from an issue here...never has been! Don't make my home town out to be something that its not. Its pretty much a ghost town at night. At times you see more opossums downtown than people. Now that's something to be scared of!
