A tanker truck overturned in Port Deposit Tuesday after losing its brakes heading downhill toward the Susquehanna River.

The Susquehanna Hose Company was called upon to aid Cecil County crews at the scene of an overturned tanker truck Tuesday in Port Deposit.

According to CecilDaily.com, the truck lost its brakes riding down Tome Highway and the driver turned the truck into a roll to avoid heading into the Susquehanna River.

The driver was trapped in the truck and required medical attention for non-life-threatning injuries, according to both CecilDaily.com and Susquehanna5.com.

Area residents were evacuated from their homes, according to those reports.
