Dog of the Week: Mason
Age: 2 1/2 years
Color: Brown
Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier Mix
Gender: Male
Adoption Fee: $80 (reduced from $160)
I'm in the Lonely Hearts Club, so my adoption fee is reduced by 50 percent—that means for just $80 you can have big, handsome, lovable (already neutered) me to settle in as your family dog! I came to the shelter as a stray, and everyone was immediately impressed with my handsome face and really cool eyes. They saw I was full of love—but I'd never been on a leash before, and am obviously a strong guy. So some volunteers have been teaching me how nice it is to go for walks on a leash. A training collar helps remind me not to pull so much—though please understand that I generally only pull initially—and that's because I'm SOO excited to get out of my kennel. After a bit I'll stroll along with you—and then after a good walk I will likely lie down at your feet and roll over for some belly rubs. (Belly rubs are my FAVORITE). If you are interested—please give me a chance show you my calmer side—all I'd ask in return is some belly rubbin'!
Cat of the Week: Bernadette
Age: 5 years
Color: Black
Breed: Domestic Medium Hair
Gender: Female
Adoption Fee: $47.50 (reduced from $95)
Hi everyone! I’m Bernadette, and I’m in search of a home with a nice family who will welcome me with open arms. Speaking of arms, I like to be held and cuddled. I have bright yellow eyes and a striking black coat. I enjoy being brushed and would appreciate being groomed a few times a week to keep my medium length hair smooth and tangle-free. Please come to the shelter to meet me!
Small Critter of the Week: Possum
Age: Young adult
Color: Brown
Breed: Guinea pig
Gender: Female
Adoption Fee: $20
Hi! My name is Possum, and I am a sweet little girl who was found and brought to the shelter. Although I can be shy at first, guinea pigs will develop intense affection for their owners and I will eventually whistle to signal my happiness when you’re around. In fact, I can make lots of sounds that all mean different things. Stop by and see me soon and consider adding a guinea pig to your home!
