Motorists heading north on Interstate 95 Thursday may have encountered a unique sight on an overpass in Havre de Grace.

The message read "Vote For Marriage Equality," regarding referendum question No. 6.

The question, if adopted, would give gay and lesbian partners the right to a state-issued marriage license.

Light Brigade Maryland, which organized Thursday's event, says a vote for question No. 6 is one for fairness and equality.

The initiative has been taken to bridges around Baltimore. Participants said the message will be delivered weekly until the November election.
