MD Sen. Jacobs: 'I Just Bought A New Gun'
State Senator Nancy Jacobs hopes to keep Maryland gun laws as they are.
Harford County State Senator Nancy Jacobs bought a gun recently.
And during a rally in Annapolis, she told everyone about it.
Check out the undated video from the rally, in which Jacobs addresses a crowd on the morning of Feb. 6, stating "We cannot let this bill go through."
Jacobs is referring to a proposed bill that would limit how many rounds a gun user could carry in a magazine.
Read more about the bill here.
Jacobs added: "Maryland is supposed to be 'The Free State.' If this bill passes, Maryland will no longer be 'The Free State.'"
She drew cheers by pronouncing, "We have to kill, kill this bill."
TELL US: Where do you stand on the bill? Leave a comment.

Kill this bill people have a right to own a gun. If they pass this bill then they need to stop people that drink from owning a car don't you think? Drunk drivers kill and injury more people every year then guns do....yet they do it over and over again. Soon no one will be able to own a knife because they also kill not the person the knife. If a person wants to kill they will find a way to do so without a gun. Don't take anymore of our rights away.

Just where does this bill take away anyone's right to own a gun????

It will do absolutely nothing to curb violence or stop mass shootings. At any rate, the Supreme Court has already ruled that "arms" are those firearms and MAGAZINES that are commonly in use.

It is unfortunate that this issue is so divisive. I don't believe we all think so differently and I do believe we want what is best for the country. We language is used like, 'They are going to take away my right to own a gun' and the issue is the number of rounds in a magazine you are talking about apples and oranges. It is illogical to argue that since drunk drivers also kill people we shouldn't do something about gun laws. Should we not prescribe antibiotics since infections kill people, too? Let's deal with one issue at a time. Senator Jacobs, I am disappointed.

Hmmm... my thought is that if you can't hit your target with two rounds or less, you shouldn't even own a gun. Why the need for so many rounds? Want Bambi to be riddled on the top of your car? Let's get real - let's sit people down and talk with our brains and not our emotions. The emotional thing? It only serves to provide the most illogical arguments.

The comparison of Deer hunting to the 2nd Amendment in your comment clearly shows ignorance. The Supreme Court in recent times has clearly defined what the 2nd Amendment means, you may take the time (as you did to find this website) to thoroughly investigate the opinions on these rulings for yourself. It's fact, and out there in the public. The Second Amendment has been 'infringed' upon as early as the 1930's... this is about no more infringement to what's already been infringed.
Secondly, your logic applied; Police and Military shouldn't need more than 2 rounds of ammunition in their firearms then?
'Bambi riddled with bullets' leads me to believe you don't have much experience in ethical hunting practices and are applying emotional responses.

Tom, you obviously didn't hear about the Georgia mother that shot a home invader 5 times in the face, chest and neck. He lived. Why don't you ask the police how many rounds they need. Why should civilians be any different?

I can't wait until the grand opening of the new Wal Mart which is not in Bel Air, although close to Bel Air (I get a kick out of the "No Bel Air Wal Mart" stickers). On that day, I will go and purchase a new shotgun and 50 rounds of buckshot. I will proudly go to my vehicle, gun in hand, and (according to the existing law) lock the newly acquired merchandise in the rear of my vehicle, and as I drive off, I will smile and wave to the crowd (very likely small crowd) of protesters. People, we have laws, plenty of them, how about hopping down off of your high horses for a minute or two and try to find ways to enforce existing laws? Limiting rounds for law abiding citizens will do absolutely nothing to help anyone. Criminals and the criminally insane do not care about laws. Left wing nut jobs are coming out of the woodwork and hopping on the bandwagon trying to get a warm fuzzy feeling (and votes of the less informed) by imposing some sort of "control" that has absolutely nothing to do with saving lives. Good luck in your quests to feel in control by bashing an elected official for standing up for the rights of her constituency. Hey, I hear there are really good deals on homes in Chicago right now, warm fuzzies at an affordable price!

Sorry Tom, I did not read the Bill. I guess I'm talking more about our rights I don't own a gun but thinking maybe I should buy one, before it becomes a law that we can't purchase one either. It's not my place to say if one can buy a gun or not or how many rounds it holds. Have a Blessed day

If they want to limit the amount of bullets one holds in a clip, then fine, it doesn't say how many clips I am allowed to carry. I could have 4 clips with ten bullets each. I can certainly change a clip in 2 sec or less
