Thanksgiving Wine Tasting
Where: The Vineyard Wine Bar (142 N. Washington St.)
When: 6:30–8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15
Why Go: Sample six wines recommended for Thanksgiving dinner.
Duchenne's Research Bull and Oyster Roast
Where: Richlin Ballroom (1700 Van Bibber Rd.) in Edgewood
When: 7:30–11:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16
Why Go: A Havre de Grace family started the event, now in its sixth year, to raise money for research on Duchenne's, the muscular disease afflicting their 11-year-old son. Read about their journey on ExploreHarford.com.
Cost: $50 (includes buffets, open bar, dessert, live music, silent auction)
Annie by Tidewater Players
Where: Tidewater Players (121 N. Union Ave.)
When: 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16, and Saturday, Nov. 17; 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 18
Why Go: Two teachers from Havre de Grace Middle School are among the cast of the popular musical.
Cost: Tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for children. Purchase tickets online.
Havre de Grace High School Craft Festival
Where: Havre de Grace High School gymnasium (700 Congress Ave.)
When: 9 a.m.–2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17
Why Go: Support the music department's fundraising effort at this fair where handmade items are for sale, featuring music by the jazz ensemble and pit beef and ham sandwiches from the Susquehanna Hose Company.
Historic Nature Walk
Where: Susquehanna Museum at the Lock House (817 Conesto St.)
When: 10–11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17
Why Go: Learn about the history of Havre de Grace on this guided 1.5-mile walk. Land and water travel, bridges and environmental features will be discussed.
Thanksgiving Open House, Open Hearth
Where: Steppingstone Museum (461 Quaker Bottom Rd.)
When: 1–4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17
Why Go: There will be open hearth cooking with colonial-style recipes at the museum, which features displays and artifacts from agricultural life between 1880 and 1920.
Homemade Soup Sale
Where: Asbury United Methodist Church (21 Craigtown Rd.) in Port Deposit
When: 10 a.m.–2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 18
Why Go: Fill up on chicken noodle, broccoli cheese, chili and vegetable soup as the weather cools off; it's supposed to be in the 40s on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
Cost: $6 per quart; $3.25 per pint
