Havre de Grace Revises Trash Collection Schedule After Sandy

The city rescheduled trash pickups and set up a yard waste collection station for the week of Oct. 29.

Due to Hurricane Sandy, trash pickup in Havre de Grace is on a sliding schedule this week. There will be no recycling or yard waste collection.

For vegetative waste disposal, the county has set up a temporary location where citizens can bring their debris at Chapel Road Park. It will be open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday through Sunday, and will accept vegetative debris only.

For curbside pickup, here is the revised schedule:

  • People whose trash was supposed to be picked up Monday now slide to Thursday.
  • Tuesday pickups have been moved to Friday.
  • Wednesday pickups will be collected Saturday.

I wonder what vegetative waste is. Vegetables? We have: 1) Trash, 2) Recycling, 3) Yard waste. 4) vegetative waste. These must be some nasty vegetables, because the only temp waste site in town is for these vegetables.
