Havre de Grace Man "Walks on Water" During Late-Night Rescue
Man swam his boat from the sand islands approximately two miles south of the city to the island at Tydings Park before walking across the sand bar in the dark of night.
Josh Krausman stood and watched.
His dad was walking on water—or so it seemed.
Tom Krausman's calls for help were heard Sunday night, and the Susquehanna Hose Company came to rescue. Not before the Havre de Grace resident swam his boat from the sand islands south of the city to the sand bar just south of the island at Tydings Park.
After a nearly-two-mile swim against a strong current, and with a high-powered light guiding his path, Krausman walked a few hundred yards in knee-deep water across the murky sand bar to the back channel. There he met the Susquehanna Hose Company dive team boat, which transported him the rest of the way to the ramp and dock at the City Yacht Basin.
The boat was left on the sand bar south of Tydings Park. But not all was lost. Krausman—who was wearing a personal flotation device and cargo shorts—returned with a cooler.
After a nervous and zany sequence of events, it was a refreshing return to shore around 11 p.m. Sunday. Krausman eagerly thanked the rescue crews who helped bring him back to shore.
"I found some clams while I was out there," Krausman said. "I never knew they had those in Havre de Grace."
After taking a moment to sit on a bench and speaking with Natural Resources police, Krausman turned to his son, who was on his bike, ready to head for higher ground.
"Let's go home," the elder Krausman said. "I'm wiped."

Interesting 'voyage'. I wish you had put the words Personal Flotation Device in all 'caps' so it would have been more noticable. Without the PFD the odds would have been against Mr Krausman.

But why was he out there? Story seems incomplete. What happened that he needed help?

I agree, the story is missing a few chapters in order to make sense.

This guy must be in great physical shape to be able to pull a boat so far by swimming! Maybe here's an Olympic swimmer. lol
