HdG Man in Halftime Show at NFL Pro Bowl
The city of Havre de Grace recently recognized Jeremy Cregar and his family.
One of Havre de Grace's own will be making an appearance during Sunday night's football game.
Jeremy Cregar, a member of the Marines who is stationed in Hawaii, will carry the American flag during halftime at the NFL Pro Bowl in Honolulu.
"What at an honor to have an individual from Havre de Grace who is going to be representing us in uniform at the Pro Bowl," Mayor Wayne Dougherty said during the Jan. 22 City Council meeting.
At the meeting, Dougherty presented Cregar's family with a certificate of recognition for his service and his family's sacrifice.
"We appreciate the recognition so much," said Cregar's wife. "On behalf of me and my daughter, we want to thank you."
Cregar's mother, Stephanie, was there to accept the recognition as well. She said her son left the city of Havre de Grace in 2009 as a young teenager and has turned into a great man. Said Stephanie Cregar of her son: "We are so proud of him."
The NFL Pro Bowl will be broadcast at 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, on NBC.
