This is not the first time the playground or Promenade has been vandalized. While on the City Council I tried to get surveillance cameras mounted to keep an eye on the city’s properties. Money was budgeted, but nothing was ever done about it. Surveillance cameras would help identify the culprits and help with prosecution. Maybe next May the citizens will elect someone that can take care of the cities properties.

First the soccer fields, now the playground! What's wrong with the kids in this town? The lack of respect, or fear of repercussions, is pathetic. Some day, they will grow up and realize what a tragic waste they are inflicting on their community. Youth is truly wasted on the young.

Sorry APG transplant....I disagree. Those 'kids' (They could be adults for all we know.) will grow up to be criminals without regard to anyone's property or life. Our society is too lax in discipline with offenders. Parents are only irritated that they have to take time out of their busy schedule to reprimand their children. In my day I would have had my __s whipped but that is child abuse today and so 'kids' (actually a kid is a young goat) run rampant just like young goats. Maybe their parents should be hauled before a judge for not contributing to society in a positive way. And cameras, come on… just a waste of money because an officer has to actually see the crime in order to arrest someone. City hall is smart not to spend our tax dollars on something that would do no good.
