GREAT ESCAPE: 'Comedy With Compassion'
Prepare for some cackling while you open your heart as the Tidewater Players perform "The Boys Next Door" starting March 4.
Each week, we’ll tell you about one great idea to give you a much deserved break, and make your life a little easier, maybe a whole lot easier.
Come experience local acting talent in the comedy and drama "The Boys Next Door," directed by Dickie Mahoney and Ken Williamson.
The play, by Tom Griffin, is based on an off-Broadway success and was also a television movie starring Nathan Lane.
Mahoney, also the Youth Programs Coordinator of Tidewater Players said the play is “a heart-touching comedy with very poignant moments. The show is about a support home for grown men living with disabilities.”
Mahoney notes that the play is definitely a comedy, “a comedy with compassion.” So be prepared to laugh!
Mahoney believes that this show “will open the audience’s eyes as to what it is like to work in the social-work industry and give [the audience] a glimpse into the world as it’s seen through the eyes of someone living with a disability.”
"The Boys Next Door" opens Friday at 8 p.m. There will be eight performances through March 19 with show times on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m.
Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased online here or you can call 410-939-5046 to make reservations or for more information.
Tidewater Players is located at the Community Theater of Havre de Grace, on the second floor at 121 Union Avenue.
