Havre de Grace Middle School was briefly evacuated after a minor gas leak Friday afternoon.

Havre de Grace Middle School was temporarily evacuated for a gas smell Friday afternoon.

The Susquehanna Hose Company responded to the school, located in the 400 block of Lewis Lane, around 2:15 p.m. on Friday for the report of a gas odor in a storage room, according to Teri Kranefeld, manager of communications for Harford County Public Schools.

Kranefeld said the odor originated from a gas line to a small gas water heater in the room. The gas line to the heater was turned off before the building was determined safe for students to return to their classrooms.

Havre de Grace High School was evacuated April 16 for a gas leak.

That's weird the school didn't notify me. Thanks Sean for letting me know. Glad it wasn't serious.
