Craig Asks O'Malley To Meet On School Funding
David Craig wrote Gov. Martin O'Malley to question state funding for Harford County Public Schools.
Harford County Executive David Craig said he would like to meet with the governor to discuss why Harford County Public Schools will receive the biggest cut in funding of any municipality in this year's budget.
Craig submitted a letter to Gov. Martin O'Malley—a copy of which is published here—to discuss public school funding.
The initial proposal calls for Harford County to receive $12.9 million in state funding for school projects. Craig said that figure represents more than a $4 million cut from last year's funding.
Craig also has been outspoken in the past year about the move of pensions from the state to local governments.

They're both crooks -- should be able to come up with something.

Easy to call people crooks when they're public figures == it is slander, but privileged. In truth, I am sure they think they're doing their best. Craig in particular has a point .... why should Harford suffer large cuts in school funding.... Sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen.

An additional question might be, "Why are there not even any plans to deal with Rt 22 between Bel Air and Aberdeen"? The gov seems plenty concerned with I95 and the Baltimore Light Rail and the DC Metro. Could it be that Harford County isn't part of his core constituency? For a guy who has increased the state budget by almost a third since being in office, you have to wonder where all the money is going.

Way to go bob! An issue that has been discussed for 30 years(when Harford was a core constituency) and nothing has been done so now its political. Take a look at the morons running the county that you elected!
