Council Candidates Take To Social Media

Have you found your favorite candidate on Facebook yet?

 

Two Havre de Grace City Council candidates have taken to social media as a supplement to their on-the-ground campaigns.

Challenger Joseph Smith and incumbent City Council President Bill Martin have posted Facebook pages for their campaigns.

Smith launched his page in March and has 62 "likes."

Martin launched his page in April and has 33 "likes."

Smith has also purchased advertising on Facebook and Havre de Grace Patch.

Incumbent councilman Fred Cullum has posted a number of election-related items on his personal Facebook page.

The election is slated for May 8 at the St. Patrick's Church Hall.

I have a face book account that I check regularly. My city email is available to anyone as well as my home phone and cell phone. I never saw the need to start a page and use up bandwidth only to abandon it after the campaign. Believe me there are plenty left over from past elections.
