City: Lewis Lane Set To Open This Week
Director of Public Works Larry Parks said resurfacing should be done by the weekend.
The section of Lewis Lane closed for resurfacing is slated to reopen by this weekend.
Havre de Grace Director of Public Works Larry Parks said Monday that paving should be complete by the end of the week on the project that improved the surface of Lewis Lane from U.S. Route 40 to the CSX railroad crossing.
"I expect by this weekend at the latest we’ll have that street open to traffic," Parks said at Monday's City Council meeting.
He said a final layer of pavement was being put down, and the road was to be striped.
The project included installing curb and gutter and a sidewalk along the northern side of Lewis Lane, allowing pedestrians to more safely access the crosswalk on Pulaski Highway.
The project began in mid-July and was finished in approximately one month—about half the time originally dedicated for the job.
