Cities Compete, Come Together For Relay Event

Relay For Life will be held June 8 at James R. Harris Stadium in Havre de Grace.

Mayor Michael Bennett and Aberdeen City Council have thrown down the challenge to Mayor Wayne Dougherty and Havre de Grace's city government.

The two municipalities will compete, but they'll also come together for a good cause: The American Cancer Society's Relay For Life.

Bennett's wife, Elaine, is the organizer of this year's event, which begins at 7 p.m. on June 8 at James R. Harris Stadium in Havre de Grace. It will run through the night into the morning of June 9.

You can donate to Hope for Havre de Grace or to Team Aberdeen, or to any number of other participating teams.

You can also start your own team.

Oh my goodness! Those are my girls up there Emily & Sara and our little buddy Aidan !! We are on our 4th year celebrating my survival and giving back to American Cancer society to find a cure. It's a lot of fun. We laugh and walk and eat and cry. Come out and help a great cause.
Jim, I am so excited to hear you are coming back to HDG HS. We have a great man to lead the high school to its glory. Congratulations! We'll be there next year!!

I recently just moved back to the area after losing my husband, Mike Johnson (HdG High graduate c/o 1997) to cancer. I would love to support or participate in this event. Does anyone know how I can obtain more information?
