It doesn't matter who they field. The only reason Ehrlich was ever governor of this state was because the democrats in the state had become so arrogant and sure of themselves they thought they could run Mickey Mouse and win - and along came that ignorant Kennedy woman; apparently less qualfied and charismatic than Mickey. The politics of the entire state are being driven largely by 3 counties; all of which are highly vested in big government. There was a time when the federal government was half the size that it currently is that Maryland had a much more balanced body politic. Up and until that happens again - that is the unwinding of our federal employee or tax teat sucking do-nothings stranglehold either by choice or by force this state will remain run by liberal theives and there will be nothing we; the taxpayers can do other than move away. You really are very, very myopic and self-deluded if you can't see that.

Except that we don't vote by county. We vote by headcount. Garrett County has 30,000 people in it which is equal to 1/60 of the combined population of Montgomery and Prince Georges County. Your point?

I'm fully aware of the concentration of populations and where those populations are largely employed or in the case of Baltimore City, not employed by having funds redistributed to their benefit.

Karl, Obama won Pennsylvania by 6%. But the Republicans have 13 House seats to the Democrats 5. What caused that Karl? Just bad luck on redistricting?

Another expected dodge. So FIFA thinks anything goes...no such thing as right or wrong it's who wins that matters and using any means necessary. And to Steve/FIFA no I don't think any of those things are right.

Actually Karl it is more complicated than "anything goes". I simply don't like cherrypicking. Where you wish to fix a problem that affects you but don't care about other places. Another prime example right now is in Pennsylvania where the Republican controlled legislature wants to change how electoral votes are allocated in the state all because the state votes democratic in presidential elections. They wish to allocate electoral votes by the gerrymandered districts they have created. What a brilliant way to help steal an election. The electoral college needs to go away and a straight majority replace it.

While I am on a roll, I can't stand the US Senate, it is dysfunctional. A tiny (population wise) state like Alaska gets two senators and so does California. All with the power to initiate a hold on legislation through filibusters.

The reason the Democrats won more House votes nationwide but have fewer seats is because they run up huge margins in inner city seats and in blue states like this one where people would vote for a cockroach if he had a D next to his name. MD's gerrymandering is about the most absurd map I have seen in any state.
