Bayview Drive Traffic to Shift Permanently

Vehicles will only be able to travel in one direction.

Traffic patterns will shift on Bayview Drive in Havre de Grace over the next two weeks, city officials say.

Bayview Drive, currently a two-way road, will be restricted to one-way travel, according to Havre de Grace city officials, who said the change is to allow for the widening of MD Route 155.

The change will be permanent, according to Larry Parks of the Havre de Grace Department of Public Works.

Sometime between Jan. 29 and Feb. 8, vehicles will be able to enter Bayview Drive from Route 155 but they will not be able to exit from Bayview onto Route 155.

This article was corrected at 3 p.m. to indicate the change on Bayview Drive will be permanent, not temporary as previously stated. Patch regrets the error.

It's right across from meadowvale. They've been working on it for about 5 months.

JB, They are putting in a center turn lane for Graceview Drive. So the widening starts at Bayview and goes just past Graceview. The center turn lane will make it safer for the school buses to turn onto Graceview.

Or people could just drive 30 down the hill instead of 50....

Causing more traffic on Martin Rd and Maryland Ave. BTW something more has to be done on 155 to slow people down. Pulling onto 155 can be treacherous nowadays

Why has it taken so long to make a simple change everyone has known was needed decades ago?? They should have re-lined the turn lanes and shifted east bound traffic away from the bank as well. Even a few feet would improve visibility. How many people have incorrectly assumed the construction has been to create a merge lane to exit bayview drive?

It is about time that Meadowvale got the turn lane. Too many near hits as cars turn into Meadowvale. Now if we could do the same at the turn onto 95 further up on 155. Very poor planning when the road was built into Bulle Rock

"Planning" lol. Like the planning that allowed Lewis lane extended to be built the way it is? Wait until they build the new hospital on Bulle Rock Parkway if you think its bad now. It was even worse before they reconfigured the ramp off of northbound 95.
