Arthur Kaff Appointed Newest Harford County Board Of Ed Member
Arthur Kaff was appointed to the post by Gov. Martin O'Malley.
Harford County gained its newest board of education member Monday afternoon, just hours before the board meeting.
Arthur F. Kaff fills the seat left vacant by the death of Leonard Wheeler in September.
Kaff is currently serving as an attorney for the U.S. Federal Government, is a Lt. Col. in the U.S. Army reserve and served in Afghanistan in 2011 where he was awarded the Bronze Star.
He and his wife have lived in Brierhill Estates in Bel Air with their three children since 2000.
Kaff thanked his fellow board members and Councilwoman Mary Ann Lisanti for their warm welcome, his family for their love and support and Gov. Martin O'Malley for the appointment.
"It is truly an honor to be appointed and I will do the best I can for the students of Harford County and for the staff and for the people of Harford County," Kaff said.
Superintendent of Schools, Robert Tomback joked Kaff's smile may not be in place after working through the "significant board agenda" later in the evening.
