APG To Conduct Louder-Than-Normal Tests Today
Larger-than-normal explosions could be heard early Tuesday afternoon.
Aberdeen Proving Ground will conduct weapons testing early Tuesday afternoon that might sound a bit louder than normal.
According to Karen Jolley, Chief of Public Affairs for Aberdeen Proving Ground, Harford County residents can expect to hear two shots about 15 minutes apart between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m.
Jolley said the detonations "shouldn't be overwhelmingly loud, but possibly more than we usualy have."
Harford County Emergency Operations Center was being notified, Jolley told Patch in an email.
Anyone with questions may contact Jolley at the APG public affairs office at 410-278-1147.
APG-based U.S. Army Aberdeen Test Center (ATC), initially planned to conduct the tests last week, but they were postponed due to inclement weather.

I live near Forest Lakes in Forest Hill and remember seeing a bright flash like lightning followed by an extremely loud boom, late Sunday afternoon between 7pm-9pm. I figured it was just APG, but if that's not true I wonder what it was.

You would never see a flash from APG in Forest Hill (unless it had been obliterated). There were fireworks set off by someone in FH nearby that you saw.
