Have the Amtrak trains along Route 40 appeared a little clearer recently?

There's a reason.

Trees, brush and debris along the rail lines are being cleared out by Amtrak as part of a maintenance project.

The following post appeared recently on Havre de Grace's city website:

Amtrak will perform maintenance activities on their right-of-way over the next several months. Maintenance includes
trimming and removing trees and clearing trash and debris.

This is  necessary to prevent trees and/or tree limbs and associated debris from falling onto the tracks and overhead wire and switching systems. The current maintenance schedule involves weekdays only, but may require weekend or evening work to complete the project on time. Please contact the Amtrak Outreach toll-free number (1-800-288-1310) or email address: askamtrak@amtrak.com should you have any questions or concerns about this maintenance project.

TELL US: Have you noticed the work along the rails? Are there places you think need cleared along the railroad? Leave a comment.
