7-Eleven Getting Closer to Opening
There is still no opening date set for the downtown convenience store.
The new 7-Eleven on Union Avenue is progressing, but no opening date has been set.
Lines have been painted on the parking lot. A sign with lights sits atop the remodeled building, and a sign along Union Avenue has been installed.
Shelves were not fully stocked as of Friday.

The rumors about the store became reality in November when Patch first reported the store would be coming. There was a split among residents upon the announcement—with some supporting a convenience store downtown, and others worried that the chain store would disrupt the quaint, mom-and-pop feel of the downtown arts and entertainment district.
The store was designed to fit in architecturally with the historic downtown area.
Due to its proximity to the Susquehanna River, the store will not have gas tanks.
The store will be the second 7-Eleven in Havre de Grace. Another 7-Eleven, with gas pumps, is located near U.S. Route 40.
