Shawn Ponton of Jarrettsville died Nov. 17.

Ponton, 21, was a North Harford High School graduate majoring in biology at Coastal Carolina University in South Carolina, according to his obituary.

In Harford County for Thanksgiving break, Ponton was in a car with four friends after having dinner in Havre de Grace, Ponton's mother told Explore Harford, when their vehicle crashed on the way to Jarrettsville.

Visitation will be from 1–4 p.m. and 6–9 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, and 12–1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 25, at McComas Funeral Home in Bel Air.

The memorial service will be at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 25, at McComas Funeral Home (50 W. Broadway) in Bel Air.

Memorial contributions should go to Relay for Life, which was a cause dear to Ponton. Read Ponton's obituary for more about his passions.
